Abstract
Objective : The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the fine motor activity program and changes in the depression, the self-esteem, and the quality of life in the elderly.

Methods : The fine motor activity program was performed to 23 senior citizens in senior welfare centers in Daegu Metropolitan city, in April 2022 ~ May 2022 for 8 weeks, 2 times a week and for 60 minutes per program. Before and after performing the fine motor activity program to the senior citizens, Korean Form of Geriatric Depression Scale (K-GDS), self-esteem scale and Korean Version of WHO Quality of Life Scale Abbreviated Version (K-WHOQOL-BREF) were used.

Results : There were significant improvements in depression, self-esteem, and quality of life before and after the intervention of the fine motor activity program(p<0.05). As a result of comparing the correlations between depression, self-esteem, and quality of life after the fine motor activity program, there were a significant correlation between self-esteem and physical health except for depression (p<0.05).

Conclusion : It was shown that the fine motor activity program on senior citizens have positive effects on reducing the depression, and improving the self-esteem and quality of life. In future studies, it is expected that the fine motor activity program is performed to prove positive effects not only on the depression, self-esteem and quality of life, but also in other fields.
